A few posts back I spoke about how interesting foliage makes for an interesting garden even when the plants are not in flower. I dug into my perennial file and pulled up some plants with interesting foliage. Note that green leaves can be as interesting as colorful foliage. Note the different shapes and textures of these plants.
Some of these varieties are common while others are new. I'm not going to label them right away. I'm going to see if you can identify them. Don't email with your responses but rather be brave and post a comment so we can all see your answers.

ReplyDeleteLamb's ears, red hook sedge, fountain grass, lungwort, variegated Japanese forest grass, variegated sedum, named alumroot with tickseed, sedge with groundcover ginger, pachysandra, heartleaf with another named alumroot, blue fescue with sedum, groundcover ginger, black mondo grass with maidenhair fern and looks like a star jasmine in the back.
I've never commented on anything before, but it is pouring rain and windy as anything today, so my chores outside are being postponed. I was too lazy to put in the species and name cultivars, but may have time to do so with this nasty weather. Let me know if you want them.
I see lots of things I love here! Lambs ears, Sedum, Sedge grasses, Brunnera, Huchera, Ginger... I can't spell them all or come up with the "scientific" name but I can grow them all ;>
